A Word from the Chairman - 14 July 2010

Dear members, players and fans of Diagoras – Neo Horio.

It is with a sense of great responsibility and a large dose of trepidation that I have accepted the role of Chairman of the Club. My pledge to you is that I will commit to my responsibilities to the best of my abilities for the benefit of the Club.


This season we face two great challenges:

1. Create the best team for the season
Our promotion to the B league this season simply means that our team is better than the teams in the C league. We now have to ensure (and prove) that we have a team that can compete in and win the B league.

I believe, therefore, that we must identify, keep and recruit the best players for the season and ensure that the team trains and strategises to the best of their abilities. This is a priority for July and August so that the team is finalized by 1 September.


2. Raise the funds to ensure that the team can play this season.
We are acutely aware that the current crisis has made it more difficult for the club to raise funds and operate effectively.

Events
With this in mind, we are discussing and planning to hold a couple of events to raise money for the club, and appeal to all members, fans and friends to support the events as best they can.

I, and the Management team, look forward to hearing from any of you on how we can raise the necessary funds for the club.

Sponsorship
We are also appealing to any individuals or organizations who can assist us either financially, or with products and services (eg football kit, equipment, services) that the club needs.


Website
For our supporters and sponsors who help us out financially, we are looking to create and develop a website for the club where they can advertise their products and services.



Communication

Facebook
Diagora FC is also aiming to improve the communication and feedback from our members. You can find us on Facebook at “Diagoras Fc Neo Horio”. We currently have a fan/friend base of 172 members from all over the world ….. USA, England, Cyprus, South Africa, Australia, and the whole of Greece (West and East Crete, Athens, Thesaloniki, and Rhodes. Via Facbook we announce forthcoming games, events, results, stats, and post pictures from each game etcetc

We also have this blog ( http://diagoras-neohorio.blogspot.com ) to communicate with our members, fans and friends, and I urge you to visit often, make your comments and offer any suggestions to help us improve and grow the club. Please also encourage new friends and fans to find us on the world wide web …


In conclusion, I would like to wish the team all the very best for the exciting season ahead, and above all, enjoy the training and fitness, the successes and the lessons that we will learn from being a part of “The Beautiful Game”.

Τα παιδιά που πήραν την Ομαδάρα από την Γ' κατηγορία φέτος στην Β' Κατηγορία του χρόνου. Μετά από 7 χρόνια στην Γ' κατηγορία, ανεβαίνει ο Διαγόρας στην Β' Κατηγορία.

The players who took The Most Famous Village Soccer Team in the World into the B league. After 7 years "preparation" in the C league Diagoras Neo Horio is moving into the B league next year.
